One of the easiest shower remodeling projects to upgrade existing shower curtain or door. Installing a new shower curtain is a fairly simple and can be done by anyone. To further enhance the look of your bathroom you can also consider adding (or upgrading) shower doors.

Shower Curtains – Install shower curtain rod and another simple DIY home repair project. If you currently do not have a shower curtain or if you replace the existing shower curtain rod measure the distance between the walls at a height where the rod will be placed. Home Repair Centers as well as a large number of department stores usually have enough selection to choose from. Select the correct length of the rod along with the selected style shower curtain and curtain hangers (make sure they are the right size for your curtain rod!).

Typically the soul of the cornice or provide brackets for you to install (if you have a laser level it is useful here) will be a spring or a telescope and tighten to the desired length. Set the rod level in accordance with instructions for the specific rod you have selected. Note: If the curtain hangers chosen not open do not forget to put them on the rod before installing it.

Shower doors – Installing shower doors a little more involved project but it is not too difficult for the average DIY Handyman home repair. The project begins again with the measurements – to measure both the top and bottom of the opening of the shower – depending on your tub / tile these measurements may not be the same so make sure you write them both. Your bathroom plumbing or home supermarket should have a choice of garage doors to choose from. They typically range in price from about $ 60 to $ 200 depending on the style you choose.

Although each specific door will have its own set of commands the foundations will still be the same. You will be installing a set of side rails bottom rail / Splash plate and top management to the door Hold on. Usually only the rails side will actually be attached to the walls. Like many other similar projects the actual installation is quite simple once training was completed.

Before installation make sure you have any special tools. Usually you only need to drill (with a ceramic tile bit if necessary) with small teeth hacksaw blades screwdrivers tape measure and caulk (usually a clear silicon caulk the bathroom). Pay special attention to your specific instructions and actions before abruptly each piece lengthwise. Also make sure that the dry Fit (no pun) pieces before the commencement of those attached to the wall.

Once you have all the pieces cut to length and all necessary holes drilled experimental setup is usually quite simple. Attach the pieces in the manner provided in the manual and make sure that everything looks / works OK before I do so waterproof tracing inside gaps.

On average this project should only take an hour or two of your time and can be accomplished with minimal difficulty. This is one soul remodeling project which is worth the time. You will be surprised how your bathroom is to improve the appearance by this simple change.

Your operator has no rev counter. Does it have safety beams? Will the chain run back and forth normally with the door disconnected from it? If you have beams are the red lights on? Sometimes the plastic limits that are clipped to the chain get messed up. The safety reverse is run mechanically using two microswitches inside the housing. These switches sometimes fail. The switches will be either on the circuit board or on the inside of the metal plate that the light bulb is fastened to on the outside. E-mail me if you want.

Suppose it totally depends on where you live, but in our area (Oregon) I paid $80 for a repair call. That was the total charge to fix almost the identical problem. We used "Overhead Door" which is probably a well-known company. Why should they be smart-***? Our errors pay their bills.

My question would be why not use a construction adhesive with a new tile without chipping out the old thinset?

They have the metal ones, like you have. And now they also make nylon ones that are quietier, but they don't last as long, I've been told by a professional.

That's what I know about them. Good luck

I think if we use adhesive then our tile level may be went uneven. because a true layer of thin set is required for grip.

If it looks like styrofoam, it probably is. However, unless you are concerned about the appearance, or the lack of insulation in that area, it doesn't need to be replaced.

If it's covered with foil, the only place you're likely to find exact replacement material would be at a building supply store – it's called "rigid insulation", and is available in a variety of thicknesses. If it's plain styrofoam, that can be obtained at a crafts store, or depending on how much you need, in various packaging materials. In either case, trim out the damaged area in a square or rectangle, and cut a piece that will fit into that spot. It can be held in place using construction adhesive, or even silicone caulking compound.

This is not a real life situation. You need to make a real video with a real floor. You are giving the wrong messege. Why don’t you make a video with a floor thats been set for a year and break a tile in the middle of the room. This vid is BULL.

    Just for one loose hinge? Heck my door had 5 rollers fall out, bent 3 of the panels (I have a sectional door) bent the crap out of tracks;
and I repaired everything by pounding the door panels back in shape, aligning the tracks & rollers, rewinding the cables back onto the pulleys and replacing the broken tension springs.
That was 3 years ago without anymore problems.
I'd look at why the hinge gets loose; the bolts are screwed in through threaded holes and they are like sheet metal screws so you may need to use bolts with a hex nut & lock washer on the back side to secure it.
My door is 12 years old.

eau9999, I’ve pulled up tile that’s been set for 5 years that pulled up easier than the one on the video. Most of the time if you’re replacing a tile its because its already cracked and coming up anyway. This video is more about demonstrating, not showing a real life situation.

Sears did a great job on my mom-in-law's in the Carson Valley, NV. They guarantee their work. Try them or the better business bureau. Good luck and enjoy your garage!
