Tips for Moving your Home or Office
Wednesday, April 27th, 2011The process of physically moving your business or home to a distant city or country is very disruptive. Preparations require careful planning, and that is eventually followed by the actual physical movement of household items and furniture. When it is a business, much more, such as records and file cabinets, and technical equipment have to be moved. If it is a long-distance move you need to bring in a professional team with professional moving experience, such as the services provided by Long distance movers. They know the best way to make moving as painless as possible. When you prepare for a move and have to put things into boxes it is an excellent idea to mark each box with a big code number and also make a detailed list of each box’s contents with its code number, written down separately or entered into a laptop database. For example, kitchen items that are needed right after your arrival can be encoded with a letter K followed by a serial number, e.g., K3, K4, K5, etc. Items for Jane’s room would get a letter J, for Kevin’s room perhaps the letter V (since K is for Kitchen). If you enter the list on your computer it will be much faster to search for things that you need, like blender, swimming wear or toys. Use big characters on the box markings and place the number on all sides and top, making it is far easier to find what you need and to sort the boxes into rooms. Do not write a list of the contents on the box, since it is hard to read these on a stack of boxes. (more…)
