Dont be hasty give the drawers a chance to thoroughly dry out over several weeks. I suggest if, as you say, the drawers have warped that you try to weight them down on a solid floor such that the warp is being pushed the other way while they dry further and your problem may go away. If that fails then you might try sanding and or applying soap to the 'difficult' part.
By the way do not turn your back on a running tap and even more importantly do not turn your back on a frying pan which is on a live burner or ring.

Kitchen floors present many problems as far as surfaces. Tile can be slippery (though they do make rougher surfaces) but do not present a water problem. Trouble can be the dropping of heavy utensils on them. (Note: Your current problem may be insufficient underlayment which allows the floor to flex and crack the tiles) Laminate can also be slippery with cooking oils in the air. Water is a bigger problem. Laminate repair due to an accident is a nightmare. Most laminates cannot be refinished as the top is a thin layer. Guess you have to consider the problems you will encounter in your usage. Good luck.
You can't prevent mold, aside from preventing moisture. Once you've got moisture, it's too late to prevent mold.
You are not "liable" legally, for their damage. You were not negligent. Leaks happen. Their insurance probably ALSO doesn't cover mold.
You are not responsible for THEIR mold damage, just like if it happened to them, THEY wouldn't be paying for YOUR mold damage. You aren't responsible for their WATER damage from your fridge line, either. NONE of their stuff will be covered. Your water damage is covered by your unit owner's policy. Their water damage is covered by their unit owner's policy – if they have one. The mold isn't really a factor here.

you or anyone else that comes in contact with the water while it is in contact with a live electrical circuit can be electrocuted. Stay away from the kitchen and call the maintenance emergency number. My ceiling fell in when it was full of water from an upstairs leak. Mold will also grow in wet drywall. It is an all around bad situation. With the turned off light glowing, you may even call the fire department because of the electrical risk. That will probably get a response from your landlord in a timely manor!

I had the same thing happen. You can try to shampoo the carpet, but it doesn't usually work. The pad is the problem, not the carpet. Most pad has something in it that when it gets wet it will smell like cat pee. Our carpet and pad had to be removed along with the kitchen cabinets and the walls that got wet had to be fixed. A picture of the mold would be helpful. If the if looks like what i am thinking then you should be able to wipe the mold off the inside of there drywall. clean it with bleach. Since their wall was not wet and your drywall was removed all moisture will be removed from their drywall.
So if you can wipe the mold off you will be fine and i would not say anything.
Tile is usually pretty cheap if you can install it yourself. It will be the most durable and water resistant surface. Laminate is actually not cheap these days. It looks nice, it's durable and easy to install, and they have special kinds of laminate for your application. However where tile might be a dollaror 2 per square foot, good laminate will be 3 times as much.
Then there is Vinyl…It is very moisture resistant because it's one big single sheet and it's not permeable. It's also very cheap. The draw backs? It's sort of ugly in my opinion. It also is vulnerable to tears if you ever drop anything sharp on it or try and move your fridge around.
